Covid - 19 Terms & Conditions

To summarise the following policy - We are implementing controls to effectively keep both you and us safe during your stay at Mount Edgcombe. These include safe distancing, increased cleaning & sanitising of public areas and guestrooms between stays (but there will be no room servicing during your stay to minimise cross contamination) and breakfast will change to full service rather than the continental buffet that we have previously done. For your peace of mind we are more than happy to rearrange, without penalty, your holiday to an alternative date either this year or next, subject to availability. This is also applicable to any new bookings made that are disrupted due to Covid -19. Pre – arrival We respectfully ask guests to only travel to us if they are experiencing NO symptoms of Covid- 19. These include but are not limited to - high temperature, persistent cough, loss of smell and taste. Please keep up to date with the latest government and NHS advice and if in any doubt please call to discuss. If travelling by public transport to maintain the current guidelines distance from other passengers and to wear a face mask. Arrival/Check In Please advise, in advance, of your arrival time so that we can stagger check in times. Should you arrive as another guest is checking in please either remain in your car or on the steps outside reception until you can see the reception area is clear. There is hand sanitiser on the wall outside reception and on the reception desk. These are automated and just require you to briefly hold your hand over the sensor thus reducing contamination risk. Please use the sanitiser on entering the building. The door should be open on your arrival but if for some reason it isn’t please use the sanitiser before pressing the bell. We will stay behind the reception desk to maintain social distancing and your key and registration form will be on the desk waiting for you. Please check the details are correct and then sign with the sanitised pen. This pen is then yours to keep. Payment should’ve already been made prior to arrival, however should this not have been possible for any reason then we will request you to pay on arrival. The card machine will be sanitised after every use. Rather than show you to your room as usual, we will give you directions. Should you require assistance with your luggage we will sanitise and/or wear gloves before and after completing this service. There is further information available to you in your room and Jamie and Yvonne are always available either by calling their mobile numbers in the information folder, or 01803 292310, or by ringing the front door bell. Guest Rooms Your room will have been deep cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival, however we won’t be carrying out the usual daily room cleaning thus reducing cross contamination risks. We will reduce the items you have on your complimentary tea tray as these will be disposed of at the end of your stay. More are available and you can request these by filling out a supplied tick list. We will enter your room only to place milk in your fridge and to provide any requested items. We also ask you to empty your own bin and to place the sealed bag outside your room for disposal. A new bag can be found underneath the used one. You are requested to wash your hands frequently during your stay and on entering and exiting your room. We are providing anti bacterial handwash in all ensuites. The communal cloakroom will be unavailable during your stay so please only use your own ensuite facilities. If there are no additional charges to your room please leave your key on reception desk prior to departure. To avoid coming into contact with other guests we may ask you to delay check out if necessary. Public Areas Please ensure you maintain the current social distance from other guests and ourselves during your stay. If you see someone already in a corridor or on the stairs please step back into your room or at a safe distance to allow them to pass. You are still welcome to use the guest lounge so long as you are able to do so at a safe distance. To give you an idea of this, 2 couples only can sit on the sofa at 1 time so long as they sit on either end leaving the middle seats empty. Hand sanitiser is available in the lounge and reception so please use before touching TV controls etc. The library of books and games we normally offer guests will be removd so please feel free to bring your own. Increased Cleaning Mount Edgcombe has a reputation for being spotlessly clean anyway but during this pandemic we will clean every hard surface and then disinfect with an approved sanitiser. The soft furnishings will be sprayed with a suitable disinfectant. A cleaning cloth will only be used for one room before being sterilised with a boil wash and a clean one selected for the next.
