By booking a stay at Mount Edgcombe Guest House, you and all members of your party are agreeing to and will be bound by the Terms & Conditions detailed below. Your reservation is made between you and Mount Edgcombe Guest House and represents a legally binding contract.

Booking & Payment

A deposit equal to your first nights' stay is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. In the event valid card details are not provided for the deposit to be taken, your booking will be cancelled after 48 hours. 

The balance is payable upon arrival. We accept most credit cards, however, we do not accept AMERICAN EXPRESS OR DINERS CLUB. 

You will receive a booking confirmation from us either by email or post as per your preference, please check it carefully, as it is your responsibility to contact us immediately if any of the details are incorrect.  

If you wish to pay by cheque please contact us in advance to agree.

Cancellation

A cancellation must be made by phone or email. For the purpose of cancellation check in time will be classed as 3pm. A cancellation made more than 14 days prior to arrival date (direct bookings only).  

Your deposit will be held for you to re-book a stay at Mount Edgcombe within 6 months of the original booking date (dates subject to availability). Should you not re book within the 6 months, the offer will expire and the deposit will not be refunded. For cancellations made with less than 14 days notice prior to your arrival date, the full payment will be due and this will be taken on the card provided at the time of booking, with a receipt being emailed or posted to you at your address.

We reserve the right to charge your card as per the above policy, in the event of a no show or cancellation, by entering into this booking you are entering into a contract as detailed above and authorising us to make these charges on your card with no additional consent being necessary. In the event that you leave sooner than your booked departure date, no refund will be due irrespective of the circumstances. 

We strongly advise guests to take out suitable holiday insurance to safeguard against any unforeseen circumstances. For bookings made via an On-Line Travel Agent the cancellation terms will be as per your booking confirmation.

Circumstance Beyond Our Control

We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstance that are out of our control, that disrupt your stay, these include and are not limited to, weather, fire, flood damage, industrial action, terrorism, natural disasters or death or injury.

This also applies to the WiFi and Internet access, where a fault exists with the line/ equipment or the service provider, every effort will be made to ensure access is available 24-7 and any faults are reported promptly to be resolved by the provider ASAP. 

In any of these events no financial compensation will be made.

Arrival

Check in is between 3pm and 6pm, unless by prior arrangement. Please contact us in advance if you require an earlier or later check in to discuss and see if this can be accommodated.

Should you arrive earlier you are welcome to use the car park.

Group Bookings

We regret that we are not able to accept group bookings for under 25's or same sex groups.

Free Collection Service

For guests arriving by coach or train we offer a collection/ drop off service from/to the station, please give us a call to arrange.

Departure

Rooms must be vacated by 10.00am on the morning of departure, unless by prior agreement. 

No Smoking/ Eating in rooms

We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout. Smokers are welcome, however, smoking anywhere is the Guest House is not allowed, please use the area to smoke at the front of the property. 

Any infringement of this condition will result with the individual or party being asked to leave with immediate effect, no refunds will be due. A £50 charge WILL be levied to cover extra cleaning costs, again no additional authority is required to charge your card. 

The eating of takeaways/ chips/ pizzas etc.. in rooms is strictly not permitted, due to possible spillages and lingering smells.

Conduct

We reserve the right to eject or refuse entry to any guests ( regardless of the booking method ) that do not comply with our terms and conditions, or whose behaviour is deemed to be abusive, threatening or inappropriate to other guests or staff, no refunds will be made irrespective of the length of your stay completed, and any costs outstanding will be charged to your card without further authority being required. 

Guests are asked to observe an appropriate dress code in the dining room, the wearing of pyjamas or swim wear are not permitted.

Optional Evening Meal/ Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Packages

These will be available on certain dates and are subject to availability, please contact us to check dates, or see our Dinner tab all dinners have to be pre ordered. 

The menu is available at breakfast for that evening, meals must be ordered by 10am. 

If you have any specific dietary requirements please let us know and we will be happy to cater for you.
