By booking a stay at Mount Edgcombe Guest House, you and all members of your party are agreeing to and will be bound by the Terms & Conditions detailed below. Your reservation is made between you and Mount Edgcombe Guest House and represents a legally binding contract. Please make sure you read our terms and conditions in full.
Booking & Payment
If you wish to pay by cheque we required the cheque to arrive at least 10 days in advance of your arrival, so that funds will be cleared prior to your arrival, cheques are to be made payable to DJ & CJ Payne.
You will receive a booking confirmation from us either by email or post as per your preference, please check it carefully, as it is your responsibility to contact us immediately if any of the details are incorrect.
Cancellation A cancellation must be made by phone or email. For the purpose of cancellation check in time will be classed as 3pm A cancellation made more than 7 days prior to arrival date ( direct bookings only ) Your deposit will be held for you to re book a stay at Mount Edgcombe within 6 months of the original booking date(dates subject to availability ) Should you not re book within the 6 months, the offer will expire and the deposit will not be refunded. A cancellation made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date The full payment being taken on the card provided at the time of booking and a receipt emailed or posted to you at your address. We reserve the right to charge your card as per the above policy, in the event of a no show or cancellation, by entering into this booking you are entering into a contract as detailed above and authorising us to make these charges on your card with no additional consent being necessary. In the event that you leave sooner than your booked departure date, no refund will be due irrespective of the circumstances. We strongly advise guests to take out suitable holiday insurance to safeguard against any unforeseen circumstances.
Circumstance Beyond Our Control
We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstance that are out of our control, that disrupt your stay, these include and are not limited to, weather, fire, flood damage, industrial action, terrorism, natural disasters or death or injury. This also applies to the WiFi and Internet access, where a fault exists with the line/ equipment or the service provider, every effort will be made to ensure access is available 24-7 and any faults are reported promptly to be resolved by the provider ASAP. In any of these events no financial compensation will be made.
Check in is strictly between 3 and 8 pm, unless by prior arrangement. Should you arrive earlier you are welcome to use the car park, we cannot, however guarantee that your room will be ready. Please contact us to discuss any specific requirements.
We regret that we are not able to accept group bookings for under 25's or same sex groups
Free Collection Service
For guests arriving by coach or train we offer a collection/ drop off service from/to the station, please give us a call to arrange.
Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on the morning of departure, unless by prior agreement. In the event no such agreement has been made a charge of £25 will be made against you card with no additional consent being required.
No Smoking/ Eating in rooms
We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout. Smokers are welcome, however, smoking anywhere is the Guest House is not allowed, please use the area to smoke at the front of the property. Any infringement of this condition will result with the individual or party being asked to leave with immediate effect, no refunds will be due. A £50 charge WILL be levied to cover extra cleaning costs, again no additional authority is required to charge your card. The eating of takeaways/ chips/ pizzas etc.. in rooms is strictly not permitted, due to possible spillages and lingering smells, in the event of evidence, lingering smells or any spillage a charge of £50 will be made to cover cleaning costs again no additional authority is required to charge your card.
We reserve the right to eject any guests that does not comply with our terms and conditions, or whose behaviour is deemed to be abusive, threating or inappropriate to other guests or staff, no refunds will be made irrespective of the length of your stay completed, and any costs outstanding will be charged to your card without further authority being required. Guests are asked to observe an appropriate dress code in the dining room, the wearing of pajama’s or swim wear are not permitted.
